The saying Neart Agus Onoir is Scot Gaelic for the phrase "Strength and Honor". These two simple words will be the guide stones and expectations for all Highlander Wrestlers. Nothing less will be accepted. Wins and losses come and go, trophies collect dust, but our actions in this life will echo through the halls and mat room of The Woodlands High School for an eternity.
Strength means so much more than just being physically strong and suplexing your opponent on the mats. The most important form of strength is mental strength. Do you possess the mental strength to hold yourself accountable even when no one is looking? Do you have the mental strength to push yourself through bouts of exhaustion, anxiety and doubt, so you know you have provided yourself with everything you can? Are you mentally strong enough to lead your peers? Can you utilize your mental strength to do the right thing even when it is the hardest thing to do?
This is not only what is expected of all Highlander Wrestlers,
but this is how we will train in all things we do.

Honor will not only be expected from every Highlander Wrestler, but it is expected to guide our every move. With honor comes guidance on how we act as a team and individual. There can and will be no success without honor. We will not cut corners. We will not loose ourselves in the search for greatness. Above all we will cherish our integrity as our most valued asset.
